Sign frames account for approx. 25% of our turnover. It is a business to business market with regular customers who purchase on a regular basis. Most frames are made and delivered to the purchaser. We call this our “Make and Take” service. Our experience allows us to help purchasers with the design specifications required for particular applications.
Sign frames and legs/posts can be fabricated from the following size tube: 20 x 20mm, 25 x 25mm, 30 x 30mm, 40 x 40mm, 50 x 50mm, 65 x 65mm, 75 x 75mm, 76 x 38mm[ patio tube ] and 100 x 100mm. All these sizes come Pregalvanized inside and outside. Silicon bronze is used to weld them so life expectancy is pushed well into the future.
Pylon signs for free standing, roadside display can be supplied with concrete cages and base plates for site installation. They can be supplied with separate legs/posts in suitable sizes and weights for prevailing weather conditions. The face frames can be spliced for ease of handling, transport and installation. Backstays come with a predrilled flat plate for easy bracing of the legs/posts.
Lot sign stakes are supplied in 25 x 25mm tube cut at 45 Degrees on one end and approx. 1350 – 1600mm in length or patio tube at approx. 1500mm long. These are used to mark Real Estate blocks by standing a stake and attaching a “Lot Plate” displaying the details of each lot as surveyed.
Frames are also made to attach directly to existing structures. Many are fixed to the walls of buildings, for which we can place tags in the corners for easier fixing. Some are mounted on roofs or parapet walls and may need hooks attached or brackets for roof mounting. Posts and telescopic backstays can also be provided. Some are mounted to gates, awnings, fences and some are hung from above. Whatever is required for long lasting, professional job can be made/sourced and provided.
The specifications of normal small sign frames have the following parameters:
No welding on the face of the sign.
No two members to be more than 1200mm apart. Adequate spreaders will always be provided to ensure the glued on face will have sufficient surface area to hold throughout its lifetime. Hawk tends to over engineer rather than risk failure on site with all the costs and rework that can cause.
Other signs we make include “A” frames, height indicators, projecting from face of building, safety and directional signage. We make frames as “Banner Stretchers” which can be free standing [ inside use mainly ], spiked into lawn or erected for permanent use.
